"But I will always, and I do mean always, be here for you, like the Good Book and my mamma taught me."Reassuring... :)
About Beautiful Darkness:
Ethan Wate used to think of Gatlin, the small Southern town he had always called home, as a place where nothing ever changed. Then he met mysterious newcomer Lena Duchannes, who revealed a secret world that had been hidden in plain sight all along. A Gatlin that harbored ancient secrets beneath its moss-covered oaks and cracked sidewalks. A Gatlin where a curse has marked Lena's family of powerful supernaturals for generations. A Gatlin where impossible, magical, life-altering events happen.Source: Info in the About Beautiful Darknesswas taken from GoodReads at http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/7842288-beautiful-darkness on 06/10/10.
Sometimes life-ending.
Together they can face anything Gatlin throws at them, but after suffering a tragic loss, Lena starts to pull away, keeping secrets that test their relationship. And now that Ethan's eyes have been opened to the darker side of Gatlin, there's no going back. Haunted by strange visions only he can see, Ethan is pulled deeper into his town's tangled history and finds himself caught up in the dangerous network of underground passageways endlessly crisscrossing the South, where nothing is as it seems.
Very reassuring. Great quote! =)
ReplyDeleteI just grabbed the first book I saw off my bookshelf- The Catcher in the Rye. Here's the quote:
Just because they're crazy about themself, they think you're crazy about them, too, and that you're just dying to do them a favor. It's sorta funny like that, in a way.
The Catcher In The Rye sounds like a good book having so many accolades... and that line seems to embody it... so many kinds of crazy :)
ReplyDeleteSounds perfectly Southern and right up my alley! So I wonder, why haven't I tried this series? Great tease!
