Review: TRUEBLOOD Season 4

TrueBlood Season 4

Alan Ball in TrueBlood Season 4, has ran away with Charlaine Harris's Sookie Stackhouse series. Some elements are still the same but the show has now become a totally different alternate version of the Sookie Stackhouse series. If the show continues to prove to be well-crafted, this might not piss off a lot of oldtime Sookie Stackhouse fans, but that is a fine line to toe. The main plot still follow a lot of the Sookie Stackhouse Book 4, Dead to the World main story arc... but, only that. And, only the bare bone structure of the major plot. Plus we see more additional elements are added into the series in the show which are not in the books at all. No matter how different the "alternate version" the show has become, one thing remains the same... Sookie Stackhouse is still too stupid to live (TSTL)! At first I thought that this Season is going to be better. In fact for the first 10 episodes Sookie was quite sane. But Episode 11 hit and Sookie runs headlong into danger so that the bad guys gets to beat up her friends using her as the lever. WTF!! I think the screenwriters of Episode 11 & 12 needs to be sacked! They're making a mess of the plot. Sookie and Debbie struggle in a hand-to-hand combat, and Sookie (a supposedly human) was able to defeat a werewolf on V??! Suspension of disbelief dropped rock bottom...

I was sooo inlove with this series with Season 2. Even Season 3. Now I think I've fallen out of love with it. Sookie's TSTL pried me away like a jack lever from my love of this series.

Overall Rating: 2.5 out of 5 cherries

  1. You know, while I'm still probably going to end up watching Season 5, I'd have to agree with you. For me, the first season was the best, and things have kind of gotten progressively worse since then.

  2. Yeah most of us Sookie Stackhouse book fans has fallen out of love with the TV show. I guess when you are so invested in a book series and love em so much it's hard to see the story line getting so off track when it's turned in to a movie or a tv show =/
