Asil
My Thoughts:
Asil is an old, old wolf and just biding his time until the Marrok kills him and finally give him relief of this world. However, he also have pack mates who are mischievous who set him up with three blind dates with good intentions. The first blind date was a novella titled Asil and the Not-Date (book number 17.5 in the Mercy Thompson series) in the anthology Fantastic Hope. Asil, for the lack of nothing better to do, went along with it. And for the heck of it! This is the second blind date. For a very short story, this novella managed to have a tiny plot and gave a wonderful reading time! Too short a reading time!

My Thoughts:
I know that the first book is titled Relentless, but I don't really get why the series is called Relentless... is it just solely because the first book is titled that?! A bit lame for a title for a series. Anyway our main protagonist, Sara, is proving to be just slightly too stupid to live (TSTL). I sincerely hope that this is not going to become a trend in this series because that would just be too bad! Because I really am beginning to like this series! And TSTL is just going to ruin it all! On the other hand, I am glad to see that Sara is discovering her other part(s) of herself and evolving into a more interesting character. The romantic angle that this book explored more than the previous book did, is also getting interesting! Love the romance! There isn't much of a plot though. But then again, this is an urban fantasy book and not a crime thriller, so forgivable from my point of view.

The author and/or publisher obviously changed the cover art for this series from "a boy and a girl" image to a more abstract water and oil art. I'm glad they did because the "boy & girl faces" is pretty boring!

My Thoughts:
This is my second series by Lindsay Buroker and Vivienne Leheny so I am kind of familiar with these two's work. But after two books into the Death Before Dragons series,my following stalled. For several years. And I am not sure if I am going to be picking it up again. The series did not have a staying power. This book however, looks very promising. So, buying the second book in the Witch In Wolf Wood series and fingers crossed.

This book wasn't that easy to get into. It took a lot perseverance to get to the halfway point. However, it did pick up towards the end.

The plot was a bit thin on the graound. But this is urban fantasy, not crime fiction, so I was not looking for plot twists. I was looking for a rollicking magical adventure in this modern world that is realistic. This book has it!

The ending was a cliffhanger of course but at least it sort of resolved the main dilemma in the book.

My Thoughts:
Being the third book, I can say with confidence that this series is a keeper!

At first I did not like the way Ceri is keeping secrets because it seems like the start of the breaking-up of the pack! It soon made sense after reading a little bit further.

The author has added a new twist to the "war of angels and demons" christian mythology that I was not really expecting, and it spiced things up a little bit more! Way to go Stephanie Foxe!!

Meet The Author

About Stephanie Foxe:
Stephanie Foxe was born and raised near Houston, TX. She grew up playing in the pond and woods in her backyard, and devouring every book she could get her hands on.

Her teen years were spent transitioning slowly from reader, to writer. She spent most evenings on the phone with her cousin writing the first few pages to many books that would never be finished.

Her adult years were spent toiling away at a corporate job until one fateful day when she heard about a little writing project called NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month). From there, the idea of writing a book went from a fanciful dream to a finished manuscript. The first book in the Witch’s Bite series was written, and Stephanie was addicted.

Now, she has plans to publish everything from paranormal fantasy to science fiction.

One book at a time.
